Three SG*United Corp Lab Trainees (Yuqa Azad Angullia, Shemuel
Joash S/O Kuehsam and Nuhakim Bin Razak Effendi) successfully completed the
SMRT Common Course from 6 to 27 Oct 2020.
The course covered four modules imparting basic system knowledge,
terminologies and skills for safe
operations around an electrified railway system. Lessons were conducted through MS-Teams,
e-leaning packages and live lectures.
This training took place as part of the Rapid Transit
Operations module, which also qualifies a person to be a railway
Signalman. Trainees were required to
role play a team of Permanent Way technicians who had to do track
maintenance. They had to physically
wave a Yellow and Red Flag to the train driver (person holding a red blinking
light on his forehead) to guide the train to position for unloading track
and tools.
